Often in transitional periods between seasons like Winter and Spring, usually in the late winter or early spring, or late fall many people experience signs and symptoms of Cold and Flu, such as: fever, sore throat, coughing, sneezing, running nose, malaise and weakness, headaches.
It doesn’t feel good! Understandably! But how do we manage those signs and symptoms is playing a crucial role for our future immune system competence.
One of the most common misconceptions presented in our society about health care is that signs and symptoms are bad. Well, before we even dive into dissection of this misconception, I’d like to tell you this parable. Imagine two people ate a poisonous piece of pizza and one of them experienced vomiting and diarrhea and another one is signs and symptoms free. Who do you say is sick and who is healthy?
The correct answer would be: the person who experienced symptoms is HEALTHY! Because his body rejected toxins and did exactly what needed to be done to minimize the negative effect. The body hopefully learns something new and will be able to deal with those toxins, bacteria or virus better and faster next time!
First, our planet is constantly changing including micro and macro climates. Our surrounding environment is very dynamic. We need constantly adapt and understand this environment internally. Many of those conditions are absolutely necessary to experience that our immune cells learn about our surrounding environment and develop a proper relationship and understanding how to manage living organisms around us; and most importantly create a SYMBIOTIC relationship with them.
Also, our immune system needs some training. If we continue taking some pills and synthetic medications, we are don’t allow our immune system to train properly and get stronger. It slowly becomes lazy and doesn’t want to respond and learn anything new. After all we become fully dependent on those drugs and lotions-potions.
We need to understand few major points! One “…we are made in God’s perfect image!” Genesis 1:27. Second point is that God created everything before us and humans were His “last creation on day 6”. So, God deposited the knowledge about entire creation into us, that’s how our cells can identify and digest food, for example. Other example, that our White Blood Cells i.e. Neutrophil identifies foreign bacteria and starts interacting with them. Third point is “God is Good!”, if we made in His perfect image than physiologically there is nothing bad about our creation. Fourth point is that if we made in the image of God than all signs and symptoms are good. THROUGH SYMPTOMS WE HEAL!
How to support yourself during Cold and Flu Seasons:
- Eat at least 5 different Fruits and 7 different vegetables Daily.
- Lemons, Ginger, Honey are good immune system stimulants.
- Get plenty of sleep.
- Continue walking and being outside.
- Keep yourself well hydrated
- Minimize Stress. Stay in peace. Pray.
- Continue Training and Outdoor Physical Activities.
- Stay Adjusted at least once or twice a week
- If you have Signs and Symptoms than take time to heal. No rush! Healing takes time!
