Big thanks to Marlene and Vernon for their hospitality for their effort to make this trip successful and also comfortable and joyful for me. Big thanks to Dr. Humphreys (MD in Antigua) and Dr. Mallin (MD, Dean of College of Medicine in American University of Antigua) for their effort founding time in theirs busy schedule to share their experience practical and clinical experiences in Antigua.  Also, I am grateful to every one of you to let me go and invest some time into advancement of Chiropractic and Health Care in general in the World.

On many daily meetings we have discussed multiple topics such as to opening a Chiropractic College, either independently or affiliate with American University of Antigua. There are also no regulations and legislations on chiropractic. It means that anyone can call themselves a chiropractor and do whatever they want without any standards of care, which makes it really scary for the public. So one of the biggest aspects that we discussed is also creating regulatory body that will keep practitioners up to the professional standards of practice that people can receive a good, reliable, and consistent chiropractic care.

I am also so happy to meet Dr. Humphreys who is a Medical Doctor by training but a chiropractor at heart. Who loves not only provide excellent medical care but also supports and appreciates chiropractic and hands-on approach to patients. We discussed topics on integrative clinical center in Antigua where people can receive both excellent unbiased medical care and top of the notch chiropractic care with a possibility to build a Wellness Rehabilitation Resort where people from all over the world come in and improve their health and also learn how to correct their lifestyle: exercise program, healthy cooking classes, receive chiropractic adjustments and lifestyle classes. In essence an intense an “INTENSE BOOT CAMP” on how to bust the change in lifestyle and make it sustainable by their return to their homes.

That entire visit brought me to the topic of appreciation on what we have here at Healthy Kids & Family Chiropractic. I can humbly say that we are so fortunate here in Canada. The entire nation of Antigua and Barbuda doesn’t have even one center that can even closely resemble Healthy Kids & Family Chiropractic Center. The entire island of Antigua has 1 (ONE) chiropractor. She doesn’t even have access to x-ray machine.  Many times during this visit my heart was hurting for people in Antigua.

Besides meetings and missionary work related activities, I also had a good time for enjoying beautiful places and my favorite sporting activities like running and kiteboarding. Which gave me necessary breaks for recovery between meetings and restore my body to be able to serve here in Canada.

Overall the trip was successful, and I can certainly say that it may be a fundamental step for beginning of something absolutely amazing and useful for everyone that can be used in the future even by Canadians visiting or vacationing in Caribbean’s.

Thank you all and we will keep you updated on the future development of all those projects. Your prayers and support is/will be greatly appreciated that we will be able to help and serve people in need.

God Bless,

Dr. Dmitri Sokolov
